In today's sermon, we embark on a journey of transformation and growth as we delve into the powerful message of moving from one level of glory to another. As we explore the concept of "New Wine," we'll discover the significance of change, challenges, and the process of becoming more like Christ.

Exciting news! Our newly launched website, www.thefootofthecross.church, is now live and ready to serve as a hub for our community. Visit our website to gain insight into our beliefs, our mission, and even to leave your thoughts, comments, and prayer requests. Vision and Logo

At the heart of our church's vision is a passion to impact lives not only within our walls but out in the highways and byways where God's work truly happens. Our logo, the foot of the cross, embodies the foundation of our faith and commitment to following Christ's footsteps. We're thrilled to share that a unique symbol of our faith is in the works—a cross made from walnut wood, a tangible representation of our journey from glory to glory.

Current Sermon: New Wine

Our focus today centers around Isaiah 43:18-19 from the New King James Version: "Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." These verses remind us that God specializes in bringing forth the new, even in the midst of seemingly barren landscapes.

Lessons from the Wilderness

The wilderness, a place of trials and challenges, serves as a training ground for our spiritual journey. 1 Corinthians 16:9 reinforces the idea that challenges are opportunities for growth. "For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries." It's a reminder that through adversity, we can step into greatness.

Learning from John the Baptist

Consider the story of John the Baptist, who prepared the way in the wilderness for the coming of Jesus. His disciples adhered to a routine of fasting and prayer, laying the foundation for the new era Jesus was ushering in. It's intriguing to note the contrast between John's disciples and Jesus' disciples when it came to fasting. Jesus reminded them that he brings joy and fulfillment, signaling a shift in perspective.

Embracing Change and Transformation

Change is often met with resistance, as it challenges us to step out of our comfort zones. Yet, it's through change that we experience growth and transformation. I'll admit, I've found comfort in routine, but the grace of God compels us to step beyond the familiar.

Seeking God's Direction

As we navigate change, seeking God's direction is paramount. Discernment, a valuable gift, allows us to make decisions aligned with God's will. The act of praying in the Spirit guides us toward understanding the deeper wisdom of our Creator.

Moving from Glory to Glory

2 Corinthians 3:18 paints a beautiful picture of our journey: "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." This transformation is a continuous process, requiring us to embrace change and approach each new level of glory with openness.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the journey from glory to glory isn't a smooth path devoid of challenges. It's a journey of change, growth, and transformation. Just as John the Baptist prepared the way for Christ, we too navigate through wildernesses and challenges, emerging stronger and closer to the image of Christ. As we stand at the threshold of change, let's remember that God's grace empowers us to move forward. Embrace the transformation, seek God's direction, and journey from glory to glory.
